Dokuz Eylul University is a part of the BOLOGNA Process (European Higher Education Area harmonization studies). This process allows the citizens of the countries within the European Higher Education Area to move easily around Europe for the purpose of studying or working. The aim of the European Higher Education Area is to strike a balance between diversity and unity, to make higher education systems comparable and compatible with each other while preserving their unique differences, to facilitate the transition from one country or higher education system to another, and to increase the mobility and employment of students and lecturers.
Dokuz Eylul University applied for the Diploma Supplement Label in June 2012 and was found successful by the European Commission and was awarded the International Diploma Supplement Label, one of the important steps of the Bologna process. The ECTS Label application made in September 2013 was also found successful and was awarded the ECTS Label, which is the second important step of the Bologna process. This Label is an important document in terms of international recognition given to Higher Education Institutions.
Our department is also accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Education Programs (MÜDEK) between 2004-2024. As of 2025, a new MÜDEK accreditation application has been made.
